JAMS is a part of PARIPOORNAM EDUCATIONAL TRUST and it is approved by DGS (Directorate General of Shipping – Government of India) on August 2015. Jeyanthinather Academy of Marine Studies (JAMS) is situated in a sprawling 30 acres campus with a panoramic view. Nature is generous in lending a lush green outlook and greenery of the college. JAMS are ideally located adjoining sea in a sprawling campus with well-furnished class rooms, modern teaching aids, seamanship/engineering laboratory and technical library. Having located near to thisaiyanvilai, our Marine College utilizes the facilities of Thoothukudi Port Trust as well as M/s. Poompuhar Shipping Corporation and shipping companies.

Jeyanthinather Academy of Marine Studies (JAMS) is committed to establishing, implementing, and continually improving an Educational Organization Management System (EOMS) in accordance with ISO 21001:2018. We are dedicated to delivering quality maritime education aligned with statutory and industry requirements, ensuring learner and stakeholder satisfaction, providing qualified faculty and modern facilities in a safe learning environment, addressing risks and opportunities, setting measurable objectives for continual improvement, and promoting ethics, equity, transparency, and accountability in all our educational processes.

Approval and Affiliations

All pre-sea training and other courses of JAMS are approved by Director General of Shipping under Ministry of Shipping, Government of India.

JAMS is Affiliated to INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY (IMU).

JAMS offers students comprehensive opportunities to occupy themselves with questions around their career planning in marine right from the beginning of their studies. JAMS is the only institution in the southern part of Tamil Nadu to offer pre-sea courses for Rating & Officers and also justifying its commitment to marine. This training programs aims at preparing the candidates to face their fortune and endurance, the hot ships of life at sea and to inspire in them a sense of devotion to duty, feeling of goodwill and comradeship which is essential for the life at sea. JAMS is consider to be one of the largest maritime institute in India. In terms of being approval more no. of courses by Director General of Shipping who is responsible for maritime administration and for overseeing maritime education and training in India. We also embody the requirement of IMO standards (STCW 2010).
