It is 6 Months course approved by Director General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Government of India. On successful completion of this course, the candidates will be eligible to join in Indian / Foreign Shipping companies as a Deck / Engine crew. With further sea service, they would be promoted as Motorman / Oiler, Fitter, Able - Bodied Seamen, Bosun. They can also be promoted to officer level with certain service and qualification requirements on passing the examinations conducted by Directorate General of Shipping (DGS).

Attend preparatory course for MEO Class IV & Advanced safety training courses AFF, PSCRB, MFA, ERS course - about 3 months
Approved for MEO Class IV Certificate of competency (COC) examination at MMD, obtain MEO class IV certificate of competency (COC)
