It is 1 day Course which is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping (Government of India).
The STCW Convention has been amended by the 2010 Manila Amendments which contains new training requirements. Seafarers are required to provide documentary evidence of having maintained the required standard of competence every 5 years in order to undertake jobs pertaining to emergency, occupational safety and survival functions.
This model course aims to provide the training for candidates in fire prevention & firefighting accordance with section A –VI/1 of the STCW code
On completion of the course as per guidelines the candidate will be competent to take appropriate measures to the safety of personal & of the ship and to use fire appliances correctly. The candidates also have knowledge of fire prevention
