Jeyanthinather Academy of Marine Studies (JAMS) organized a Coastal Cleaning Camp at Idinthakarai, Tamil Nadu, on 28 October 2025 as part of Indian Maritime Week 2025. Students, instructors, and staff actively participated in the initiative to promote environmental awareness and preserve coastal ecosystems.

A Beach Cleaning Program was successfully organized at Idinthakarai Beach to create awareness on environmental protection. The cleanliness initiative was conducted by the students of JAMS Marine College under the guidance of the Chairman, Mr. V. S. Ganesan, and the Secretary, Mr. S. G. Rajesh, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The event was inaugurated by the Parish Priest of Idinthakarai, followed by the active participation of village leaders who extended their support to the activity. Students and staff enthusiastically engaged in removing waste materials from the coastal area and nearby village surroundings, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment.

This program helped encourage environmental consciousness among students and the local community, highlighting the importance of maintaining a pollution-free coastline.
